Improving the lives of Douglas County residents 60 and older
by serving well-balanced, nutritious and satisfying meals.
The Senior Meals Department serves an average of 260 noontime meals a day, Monday through Friday, at Dining Centers and to homebound customers in the communities of Baldwin City, Eudora, Lecompton and three sites in Lawrence.
To qualify for the meals at the dining centers, an individual must be 60 years of age or older. Spouses under the age of 60 may accompany their mate as well. Individuals who are under the age of 60 may enjoy a meal by volunteering to pack, serve, clean up or deliver lunches.
Please make a lunch reservation 24 hours in advance by calling 842-0543.
A donation of $2.75 is suggested for home delivered meals and lunch at any dining center.

Home Delivered Meals
To qualify for home delivered meals, the customer must be homebound and unable to attend a Meal Site. A staff member visits all home delivered customers to certify their eligibility and to provide assistance in obtaining other home-based services which might be useful.
