Information, Referral and Assistance
Specific and up-to-date information for older adults with questions about aging services. If you have questions, please contact us or fill out an information, assistance and referral form that will help us answer your specific questions.
If you have questions about Medicare and Supplemental Insurance, we have trained counselors available by appointment. A “Welcome to Medicare” meeting is held once a month. This informational meeting is designed for those new to Medicare. See our Medicare Information page for dates.
Our Caregivers Support Group meets the 1st and 3rd Monday of each month from 2:15 – 3:45 at the Lawrence Senior Center, 745 Vermont Street. Private communication is also available by appointment.

AARP Tax Aide Volunteers are available to prepare income taxes at the Senior Center on a seasonal basis. They may be available by appointment during the year. Call 785-813-1136.
Need help clearing walkways during the winter months? DCSS and the City of Lawrence have partnered to help seniors clear their sidewalks. Visit the City of Lawrence Website for more information.
An annual event where members of the community anonymously adopt an older person for the holidays by providing a grocery store gift card and items from the senior’s wish list. For more details, email Janet Ikenberry, Community Services Program Manager.
